Introduction to BPOs
3
No Charge for FCAR Members - $30. for Non-Members
Robert Gress
This course is designed to give the Florida Real Estate Agent an in-depth introduction to broker price opinions. Due to the unfortunate downturn of the economy, the broker price opinion has become a more commonly used term in the real estate world. The question is do we truly understand broker price opinions the way that we need to if we should become more intimately involved with them.
The objectives of this course are designed to give the attendee a solid foundation for understanding broker price opinions. This course will cover current broker price opinion information and the caveats that go with it. Additionally, the course is designed to highlight the dos and don’ts as they relate to BPOs and how BPOs are affected by Florida law and nationally accepted ethics.
The broker price opinion is still something that is confusing and often misunderstood by many agents. Whether you are a new real estate agent or a seasoned professional in need of a refresher, this course is a comprehensive resource on the timely subject of real estate broker price opinions.

iCE Class – “Negotiating Skills”
4
No Charge for FCAR Members - $30 for Non-Members
Charli Phelps
Just imagine a Realtor® is in a situation where they want one thing, and their counterpart wants another. What to do? Challenge them to a duel? Although dueling days are past (whew!), there is a way to find a solution – and that is through negotiation. This course examines the art of negotiation and what it can
mean for a real estate professional when practiced correctly. It will help Realtors® determine what negotiation is and how they can use it to find a solution. In learning that negotiating is finding a suitable compromise while keeping the focus on what each party needs to get out of the situation, students will understand that negotiation is a valuable skill that can assist them in and out of work situations.
Realtors® will learn about themselves to best understand how to negotiate with their clients. Best of all, it can help them earn more money and get the results they desire.
Objectives: By the end of this course the student should be able to: provide an environment where the parties involved are aware of each others' needs and are willing to work together; bring to a conclusion a negotiation where each participant leaves satisfied with results; explain merit based negotiation and how beginning with a desired outcome improves the well-being of all participants; list the five power positions and how each can be used in a specific negotiation to achieve the desired outcome; demonstrate six negotiating tactics that benefit the parties to the negotiation.
